having just discovered messages waiting for me that are nearly 3 weeks old, is it possible that, a little message waiting page comes up when you log on, as i think was the case with the old site. this would certainly make missing messages less likely. i have no idea if this is even acheivable, but would be helpful if implementable.

No need for any change to forum/website as the facility exists.
If you go to your user details you can set the system to send you various notifications, one of which is when you have a new message. It is under ‘settings’ then ‘notifications’.
