I have been asked for an image. I don’t have one. A friend has seen it and has described it to me. He thought that it has a villiers engine but so many had them.

  • I am trying to identify a ride on cylinder mower. It has a saddle seat and handlebar steering. The body gooseneck down at the front to a cylinder cutter. Can you identify this for me please. Thank you

  • I have an MG40 and a semi digger mounted plough to go with it. In fact I have the left hand mounted plough as well. Can any one tell me the part numbers of the share points for these ploughs and even better where can I obtain them. Without them I cannot try to plough. I have asked Weslake and they showed little interest. Thanks in advance.

A company based in Retford found the code in their records to enable me to paint my Barford Atom. They name their red, Post Office/Cherry Red. A number 921002L is also shown on the label. Their paint is a quality product that both sprays and brushes. I used it to paint the wheels Coastguard Yellow, 4488553. Unfortunately they do not quote a…[Read more]

Thanks for the help. I agree the I could paint any colour that suited me but it is the same amount of work to paint it the correct colour, so that is why I asked. Also in looking at a British Standard colour chart I see that Carnival red is shown to be the name for two colours, BS04E53 and BS04E56. The latter one is darker. Names are really…[Read more]

  • Can anyone help with the BS paint code for the Barford Atom? Thank you

  • Normal Barford wheel weights are fitted as well as the rubber tyres. Other alternative wheel weights have strakes included in one casting. Are this type fitted as well as the normal weights? Are they fitted alone, instead of the normal wheels?

  • I have a 10″ two furrow plough with some linkage parts missing. I have the top link and RH adjusterble bottom link apparently complete. On the LH side I have the lower link arm and a green bracket and turning handle. I do not know what else I need. The handle turns a threaded bar. What fits on the thread? There is also a hole in this bracket. I…[Read more]

  • I believe that President ploughs can be either 8″ or 10″. Can experienced users please advise which size suits the tractor better? The larger plough appears to use Ferguson T20 plough parts and that is aimed at a more powerful tractor. The smaller plough may not move enough soil. I realise soil conditions are critical but if both were available,…[Read more]

Sorry, I forgot to say that the battery supplier tested the battery as OK.

I have a new battery fitted to my President tractor. There are no lights or horn fitted but my battery discharges when parked. I think that a leak to earth is probably occurring in the voltage control box which is the original DB type. Does this make sense? Are they known for this problem. Is there a cure? Thanks

  • Thanks Charlie. I wasn’t aware of the dump trailer existing. I now see how the brakes would work. With the information you are to send I should be able to restore it. The wheels and dump tub will be the difficult bits.

  • I have purchased a Barford Atom trailer chassis. I need your help and assistance if you will. I enclose a photo of the chassis. It has a broken fitting in the centre. A tube maybe went vertically up from this point. What function did it perform? What are its dimensions.

Also I don’t see how the break was operated by the driver.

    The worst is to…[Read more]
