    Probalby the only machine also a British invention most over looked only equal to the lawn mower.
    With out it where would we be today in Sport!
    There has been many designs over the years for actually applying the liquid lime to the grass surfaces, one by direct printing by the marker wheels or by using a belt to transfer the liquid to the grass, in later times to use powder.
    Although there are numerous makers with lovely cast iron plates showing the agents and ironmongers which are highly collectable, when exhibiting it requires the correct setting, the pictures below are from one of our exhibitions for Saltex for The Institute of Groundsmanship representing sports equipment used for the 1908 Olympics which were held here in London
