Hi All long time no see or post, my next door neighbour has a Gem twin and left it outside in the elements for sometime. He now wonders why it won’t start, I told him that the electrics will probably be wet and need some attention also it has an Amal carb and they don’t like rain and fill up with water.
He has since taken the electrics apart including the mag off the engine. He has asked can I fix it, No but I know where we can find out where we can get the info from.
Any help would get him off my back.
The mag is a Wipac and has been taken apart fully. Looking at it the rotor in the distributor it has had some work done on it and I can’t see any timing marks, the drive cog has an arrow. He has taken the whole unit off the engine so I presume I will have to take off the timing chain and re-fit.

    All the best
    Phil
