Hi all, I have a Clifford Rotavator with a JAP engine fitted, it has sat in my garage for about 4/5 years now and i/ve never had it running but now is the time. Does anyone have any info as regards engine and gearbox oil types or any info at all on this machine, I think its a MK1.

    Thanks Ray

Hi Ray I have a Clifford Mk1 which is a very small rotavator with a Villiers 2 stroke engine (as was fitted to an Allen Scythe, I suspect you have one of the Clifford Mk 4 which is a much heavier piece of equipment

A small number of Mk1s were fitted with the 80cc JAP twostroke.

My father had a Clifford Mk1 in the 1960’s with a villiers Engine. It was a difficult starter especially when warm
