    I need to replace a ball bearing on a JP Super push lawnmower. The old bearing has Made in USA MRC 204 S on it. All the bearing company websites I have looked at show this to be a metric bearing with outside diameter of 47mm, inside 20mm and width 14mm. I would have expected it to be an imperial sized bearing given the date and British manufacture.
    When I measure the bearing I get an outside diameter of 46.93mm, inside diameter of 19.96mm and width of 13.93mm which is pretty close to the metric dimensions quoted for this bearing.
    The old bearing was so bad that it only had 8 balls left and no sign of any support cage, none of the other bearings in the mower are sealed so I assume this one wasn’t.
    It looks as if MRC bearings are now part of SKF.
    What do you think about this been a metric sized bearing?

    47mm = 1.85″, 20mm = 0.784″, 14mm = 0.551″ so not equivalent to Imperial sizes.

    Seems to be a 6204 metric .

    Yes I was looking at the Simply Bearings website and will be ordering from them as I also need some 3mm loose balls to go in the freewheel mechanism.
