Hi all, having got my Allen Scythe back together, I’ve succeeded in getting it to run but it seemed to me it was running too rich. Lots of smoke, starting from cold without the choke, little response to the throttle – it seemed to be either going or dying.

I’ve made some improvement by lowering the throttle needle so that now it ticks over at a slower speed and speeds up a bit (but not a lot) when I open the throttle. Still seems very smokey. I’d hoped to use my old Colourtune on it but the plug thread is the wrong size.

I’d be happier if I knew what the factory setting for the throttle needle and also the float height setting (I’ve changed the fuel needle). Does anyone out there know these settings? It’s a Junior type carb with MK2 stamped on he bowl.

    Cheers,

    Iain
