Ransomes Certes Mk 6

Hi,

I have a Ransomes Certes Mk 6 14 inch greens push mower. Some of the oil nipples no longer work so I need to replace them. I know the thread diameter is 0.25 in but i’m stuck on the thread. I think it’s either BSF or UNF.
Also the concave is not the original and is made out of plastic so I would like to make a new one out of steel, would anyone have a template off an original either a 14 or 16inch.

Have you tried cleaning the existing oil nipples to see if you can get them to work?

Hi Charlie,

I think they are past it now nearly 65 years old.

It’s worth a try cleaning them up, I have a Ransomes plough that had been very well weathered but with a bit of persuasion got all the oil nipples working.

Thanks I will try it do you know if there are dedicated oil guns i have a grease gun. I only obtained the lawnmower last week.
