I’ve recently been given a Jalo Gardener and some attachments. I’ve used it on my allotment with the hoe attachments, and I’m very impressed with it.

I need to give it a general clean, and would like to remove the wheel as water has got inside. The nuts are off the axle, but that’s as far as I’ve got! Is the axle threaded into the sleeves?

    Thank you.

I have an instruction book, here’s a picture, looks like the spindle should drive out when the nuts are off…

Thank you! Now I know the axle has inner bushes, and it’s these that are seized on my Jalo. It’ll take a lot to loosen them after 50+ years.

Heat and penetrating fluid, not WD40, will help and be patient. Once some movement is achieved working the axle back and forth will also help.
